SAFETY NET ASSOCIATES GROUP AND NATIONAL NEIGHBOURHOOD & HOME WATCH ANNOUNCE THE LAUNCH OF NATIONAL QUALIFICATION PILOT

A new BTEC qualification for volunteer community advocates is being rolled out across the UK by Safety Net Associates Group in partnership with National Neighbourhood Watch.

The Neighbourhood and Home Watch Network (NHWN) supports over 170,000 groups across England and Wales helping approximately 7.9 million households who volunteer to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour and improve community life for all.

The BTEC Advanced Award for Community Advocates is designed to address the skills and needs of volunteers within community organisations such as Neighbourhood & Home Watch and staff from public bodies who support them.

Jon Kennett, Group Managing Director for the Safety Net Associates Groups said " We are delighted to be working with National Neighbourhood Watch on this learning programme, with the National pilot being delivery early in 2011 at Leicestershire Police Headquarters".
