BTEC Advanced Professional Diploma in Neighbourhood Justice

Display mastery of a complex and specialised area of knowledge and skills, employing advanced skills to conduct research, or advanced technical or professional activity, accepting accountability for related decision making including use of supervision.

The units of this Diploma can be studied in any order and are also stand alone qualifications. 

The next New York study trip will be in February 2011 and can be attended prior the other units.

If you have already passed any of the below units these count towards the overall diploma.

The qualification consists of 220 hours of guided learning, made up as follows:

Guided learning hours
Unit 01 Information and data sharing 10 hours
Unit 02 Anti Social Behaviour Tools and Legislative powers 10 hours
Unit 03 Case working, statements and note taking 10 hours
Unit 04 Investigation and evidence gathering 10 hours
Unit 05 Giving evidence in HM Courts

10 hours

On completion of units 1 - 5 students can be awarded the Level 3 BTEC Advanced Award in Neighbourhood Nuisance and Anti Social Behaviour Case Working.

 
Unit 06 Supervision of Case workers 40 hours

On completion of unit 6 students can be awarded the Level 5 BTEC Professional Award in Neighbourhood Nuisance and Anti Social Behaviour Case Work Supervision.

 
Unit 07 Restorative Justice Approaches 40 hours

On completion of unit 7 students can be awarded the Level 4 BTEC Professional Award in Restorative Justice Approaches

 

Unit 08   Field Study trip to New York, USA, including supervised visits

                         NEXT FIELD STUDY VISIT FEBRUARY 2011

On completion of unit 8 students can be awarded a Research Study unit Certificate

to:

- Bronx District Court

- 42nd Precinct (NYPD Bronx)

- Red Hook Community Court, Brooklyn

- Manhattan Mid-Town Community Court

Meetings with the Following agencies:

- New York Police Department

- New York City Housing

- Centre for Court Innovation

- District Attorneys Office

Dissertation 40 hours
